New MyMotlow ➜ D2L integration
We've updated the communication tool between BANNER/MyMotlow and D2L Brightspace.
Prior to the summer term, the integration between our BANNER Student Information System (also known as MyMotlow) and D2L Brightspace received a required update. As part of a systemwide initiative, all TBR schools are receiving this upgrade to the Ellucian Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP). Essentially, the ILP sends the users, courses, and enrollments from BANNER to D2L.
As an instructor, there will be very little change to your experience with D2L. However, with this new integration there will be a couple of cosmetic changes we want to make you aware of.
First, and perhaps the most noticeable, is the change to the course title. The course title will now match what is listed in BANNER/MyMotlow. In D2L, you will now see that the title contains information about the modality of the course (i.e., “in person” or “online”) and whether or not a textbook is required. This course title is exactly what is presented to students when they register for the course in MyMotlow.

Secondly, the semester will now be listed in D2L as “Term Year” (i.e., Summer 2024). Previously, the semester was listed as “Year Term” (i.e., 2024 Spring). Once a term ends, Academic Technology will update the semester name to be listed chronologically with the previous terms.
Again, this new integration will not affect the features of D2L you have come to know and utilize in the instruction of your courses. The new ILP integration should improve the communication between BANNER/MyMotlow and D2L Brightspace and ensure that your course rosters are up-to-date.
We hope this information is helpful!
